House Council Meeting #1 - Minutes

October 1, 2006

Hey everyone!

So apparently I'm not only your VP, but also the Secretary. Oops! Next time I'll
pull a Ryan and come with my MacBook. Thanks Tiffany for the piece of paper :)
Apparently these e-mails are supposed to be funny. I'm not that witty in e-
mails... But here's a joke...

What's the difference between chopped beef and pea soup?
Everyone can chop beef, but not everyone can pea soup!
mwahaha... anyways...
Here's a basic rundown of what we talked about in the meeting:

1) CHOCOLATE- This is a fundraising project that is left over from last year, and
as far as we know, we're just going to divide up the total number of bars (nearly
300) and sell a few to each person in Graham. Those who would like to sell them
may do so, but of course there is always the option of eating them... Which
Caileigh and I did promptly after buying our first ones tonight (the almond kind
is great!).

2) HOUSE AUCTION?- This is an idea for an event (that has taken place in
previous years) where everyone in the house can donate things they bought but
never needed (shoe racks, extra shelving), or things they no longer want (extra
video game controllers, DVDs, etc) to an auction or sale where all the profits will
go to Graham (yay nice t-shirts and fun trips!).

3) T-SHIRTS- I'm pretty sure Ryan already sent out an e-mail explaining all of
this. Basically, if anyone wants to come up with a design idea, let Ryan Sweeney
know ASAP so he can draft a virtual layout of it on Photoshop. Everyone should
try and submit an idea if you have one, since the winning designer will be
rewarded with a free shirt. I believe that at the next house meeting we will open
up the voting- but that may not be decided yet. The theme should be James
Bond.

4) IM SPORTS- There is word going around about a possible kickball team...
Also, Co-ed flag football will be taking place this Saturday at 3pm. Co-ed
volleyball will take place sometime NEXT week, not this week. "Midnight" (aka
10:45pm) Soccer will be taking place on Tuesday night of this week. Stay posted
for more info on IM from your new IM captain/chair people.

5) SOCIAL EVENTS- There are tons of ideas floating around for house events.
Some shows that are currently playing are Wicked, The Pirate Queen(?), and
Annie- keep looking ahead though, since if we want to schedule a trip to a
show, we need to buy tickets way in advance for availability reasons.
Another idea we had was for a House Tailgating party before the Homecoming
game vs. WashU.
Also, Halloween is coming up! Yay for corny costumes and sugar overload! An
idea was floating around about perhaps having a House Halloween/Costume
party.

6) SIX FLAGS / GREAT AMERICA TRIP- I'm pretty sure that by now all the spots
are full. The House Council, RAs, and Max P are all funding small portions of the
trip so the total per person should end up around $30. Keep listening for the
final word on that from Pat.

And if you actually got to the end of this e-mail, here's one more amazing joke.
Why won't a cannibal eat people that work at Exxon? They give him gas.
teehee!
