House Council Meeting #2 - Minutes

October 8, 2006

Hey everyone!

That was our second official meeting with the new council, but I believe we're in the third week of school... I know that because I have a Calc midterm on Friday. Yay! :(
Here is what we talked about in the House Council Meeting:

1. Chocolate- One box has been sold. 100 bars left- Tiffany will take the two left over boxes to her high school to sell them during the lunch periods (before Wednesday).

2. Saturday the Homecoming game vs. WashU starts at 1. No tailgating party this week because of the tug-of-war.

3. IM Football game at 3 this Saturday!

4. 46 people on the list for Six Flags trip; Max P Council is being consulted this week for funds.

5. IM Info (talk to Annie or Bill for more details):
Volleyball this Wednesday at 9pm. We need 6 people. It's here at Henry Crown.
Sign-ups for Dodgeball start Monday (today).
Wiffleball? eh? eh?
Raquetball, Badminton, Kickball team(should we have one?), 3 on 3 basketball.
Indoor soccer: Oct 20.

6. Tug-of-War with Inter-House Council 11am-12:30pm. Free Food, then stick around to go to the football game together afterwards.

7. Saturday November 4, 9am-1pm, there is an opportunity to babysit staff members’ kids. The money would go to Graham House. As long as our house is willing to send people to go babysit, we could get money for the house.

8. Fall Formal November 3! Couples' tickets are cheaper.

9. Fundraising ideas (see Colin for more details):
Food/Bev distributor, wholesale food/drinks to be sold to the house. Deliver to your dorm room. We get a tax exemption from wholesalers. Advertise through flyers, put order forms under doors. Start out with Max Central, then possibly branch out. People have to pay up front with cash. Charge less than BartMart but would still make profit.

10. House Lounge needs cable... Adam's working on that.

11. House Auction will happen 5th week- stay tuned.

12. Friday- Blues and Ribs @ Ida Noyes

13. Spirit Week? eh? eh?

14. Vote for T-Shirts through Ryan Sweeney’s e-mail.

15. Resident Masters’ Apartment dinner next Sunday with Hoover house!

The grammar in those notes isn't meant to be right, I just copied and pasted most of the notes I took during the meeting.

Okay now it's time for a joke. Hmm...
Caileigh's dad called and asked how she did on her first test.
She responded, "Underwater..."
He said, "What do you mean it's underwater?"
She said, "Below 'C' level."
haha!................

Okay here's a better one:
Morgan said to Amanda, "Do you like raisin bread?"
Amanda replied, "I don't know, I never raised any."
Haaa!!!

I'm done for now. Now to begin my 5 page paper that's due tomorrow.
See you around!
